How did you become a designer?

I started in the industry as a countertop designer.  When I moved to Florida, I wanted to expand my knowledge and decided to go into cabinet design.

When did you begin working at McCabinet?  What drew you to working here?

I began working for McCabinet in July of 2018.  I was really drawn in by the atmosphere – everyone here is family.  As soon as I interviewed and met the McCabinet team, I knew it’s where I wanted to be.

What project are you most proud of?

I’m really proud of the two first projects I worked on alone.  I was working with a builder with two large builds (about 4,000 sq feet), and I designed the kitchens for the two homes.  At that juncture, they were the largest kitchens I had ever worked on.

What are some design elements you always encourage customers to add in?

I love adding in cabinet accessories.  They really complete a space.  A nice spice or tray insert, or a built-in trash can are always great for kitchen functionality… and we preach functionality!  Under cabinet lighting is always a great opportunity to jazz things up!

What are your favorite design trends?

Color combinations within the cabinets are on trend right now. It adds a nice pop to the kitchen or any space. Large and beautiful oven hoods are also really popular and make a great statement.

What are a few styles that you consider timeless?

White cabinets with shaker doors never seem to go out of style. A nice, simple subway tile is always a good, solid accent in a great kitchen design.
